New York-based director and puppet designer Robin Frohardt has created an animated short film made entirely of one of the most flexible materials available: corrugated board. Her film, entitled Fitzcardboardaldo, is a tribute to the 1982 film Fitzcarraldo by Werner Herzog with Klaus Kinsky and Claudia Cardinale. The artist says she believes in the magic of corrugated board and in fact the set and characters seem to be in perpetual movement.

Robin also produced a 4-minute “documentary” entitled The Corrugation of Dreams, in which she records the making of Fitzcardboardaldo.
