Corrugated cardboard demonstrates its role in fresh produce packaging

Corrugated solutions are increasingly used as alternatives to single-use plastic packaging in fresh produce. This punnet from Flutepac is one example, the range consists of microflute trays and punnets for fruit, vegetables and food-to-go.

Made from corrugated board, the range is 100% recyclable and plastic-free, while maintaining strength throughout the supply chain. The material structure provides natural breathability, which can help preserve fresh products.

Corrugated also enables direct printing on-pack, avoiding additional labelling materials.

Such developments illustrate how fibre-based packaging can support sustainability objectives and anticipate evolving regulatory requirements. More
