Corrugated house: crazy project or true sustainable innovation?

corrugated house

A French couple originally looking to enlarge their home to offer bed and breakfast facilities decided that they wanted to be involved in sustainable tourism development in their area. “We found out that a company was developing a new concept of cardboard house” said Nicole Lenoble. This house is a very sophisticated assembly of waterproof and fireproof panels made from corrugated board. The panels were bound together inside wooden frames and the whole structure was put up in four days.

The house will stand up to the most severe winter storms. Strong and light, the panels are also efficient in terms of thermal quality.

If you want to know more, a report was aired on French TV recently:  http://meltin-com.com/portfolio/video-maison-en-carton-belle-ile/
